One Pan Spicy Soy Noodles with Chicken
A quick and easy one pan recipe with linguine and chicken pieces in a spicy soy-based sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights with minimal clean up.
Ingredients
- •cut into 1-inch pieces boneless skinless chicken breast or tenders (1.25 pound)
- •0.5 teaspoon garlic powder (null)
- •0.5 teaspoon paprika (null)
- •1.5 teaspoon kosher salt (null)
- •0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (null)
- •plus more as needed water (1.5 cups)
- •0.25 cup soy sauce (null)
- •2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (null)
- •divided neutral oil (2 tablespoons)
- •2 teaspoons sesame oil (null)
- •finely minced garlic (2 cloves)
- •1 tablespoon finely minced ginger (null)
- •plus more for garnish crushed red pepper (if desired)
- •8 ounces linguine pasta (null)
- •2 tablespoons brown sugar (null)
- •2 teaspoons sesame seeds (null)
- •thinly sliced green onions (3 null)
Instructions
- Season chicken with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.\u00a0Whisk together 1 1/2 cups water with soy sauce and vinegar in a 2 cup measuring cup or bowl. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat.\u00a0Add chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides (Chicken will not be cooked through at this point).\u00a0 Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.\u00a0
- Add remaining neutral oil and sesame oil to skillet.\u00a0Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute, stirring constantly.\u00a0Stir in crushed red pepper.\u00a0Add pasta and stir to coat in garlic mixture.\u00a0Add reserved soy sauce mixture and stir until everything is well incorporated, scraping any browned bits from bottom of skillet.\u00a0Bring mixture to a boil and reduce to simmer.
- Add chicken and any accumulated juices into skillet along with brown sugar.\u00a0Stir and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked and sauce is thickened, 10 to 12 minutes. Add additional water as needed to keep mixture saucy until pasta is cooked.\u00a0Stir in green onions, sesame seeds and more crushed red pepper if desired.
